Council Awards  February 2009

Citizen of the Year Award  Award to the most deserving citizen of Shawnee for outstand community service in keeping with the spirit of the Council's Mission Statement and that of  being a good neighbor to those in need.

Knight of the Year:  Recognition given to a member of our council, who by brotherly love through personal efforts on behalf of our council and its Mission has demonstrated the true meaning of Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism. Joe Peternel

for the celebration of the Parish 140th anniversity
 
Family of the Year:  Recognition given to a family member of our council, who by brotherly love has
demonstrated to others the true meaning of Catholicism
and Christian Love.

For their dedication to helping in making our
community a better plance to raise a family,
such as: CYO Volleyball Coordinator; Track
Volunteer Coach, Heads aluminum can collection
for the school, volunteers for school library duty;
Coordinator for Knights men's softball teams;
chairs the tootsie roll campaign for the family; gives time to Old Shawnee Days for the Council.

Joe Lang Award:  The Joe Lang award was instituted and named to remember and honour Council 2332's long-time warden, Joseph H. Lang.  He served on the First through Third Degree teams formany years, and worled behind the scenes on many council projects in his day.  He was never Grand Knight, nor did he want to be "out front".  His long time faithful reliable and devoted service was recognized and appreciated by all.

The first recipient of this award, was awarded posthumously to Joe Lang and accepted by his widow, for his "Long and faithful service to the community, church and council, without seeking praise or recognition for his services"

This award is given each year to one who  is exemplary  in the  practices as written above.

50 Year Membership  Award Recognition  Members of Council 2332 recognized for their  50 year membership during the past year, those being, from left to right:
 
 Luis Mendez, James Fanning, Charles Garrett and Leonard Mueller. Those presenting the Awards were Fr. Mike Hawken, Grand Knight Ron Masters and State Deputy Francis Droughard.   In addition to the above, John Rosner  also received his 50 year Award
